After the water starts boiling, it shouldn't take any more than 20 minutes, more or less ...I like it al dente..

To check it's cooked throw a small piece against the wall, if it sticks it's done.
(don't forget to clean your walls occasionally, mine used to be covered in bits of pasta, it gets difficult to see which is the fresh bit)
