I recently decided to do something with the free space that came with my internet connection, so I built a site, the server it was hosted on ran linux, Apache, perl, PHP and mySQL, pretty much the standard in hosting nowadays, in order to save time and make sure the site is actually dynamic and straight forward to use, I decided to go for a ready made Open Source CMS system, that is prerrty much a standard in portals now adays, I also had to ensure it was modular and easily modifiable, I went for mkPortal as the CMS Front and phpBB, the site was up in under 30 mins, the hard part was moving content that I had lying around all over the internet, I added tags to embed an entire external webpage inside a post, I added tags to embed Flash, Video (all formats) and sound, I added Tags to allow for better formatting of posts, and I changed the Posting editor to add features and make it look like MS office XP, I also added a virtually unlimited space file server, Radio Streams and various other hacks, the latest one is the ability to create Ghraphics on the fly serverside using PHP/GD extention,

Notice The s Parameter in the URL below, it denotes s for size of the font.
The text Parameter Denotes The Text inside the Ghraphic you want.

This one is uses a Diffrent Font and is desinged for banners and such, hell I can use it almost anywhere.
