I have a quick Question about the origins of the Berber people.

id say probably indian too the faces are similar ie the chleuh to indian peoples faces dont forget the slaves from europe who intermarried ie the chleuh from nearby gibraltar .........i can usually judge people ie arab or berebere from demeanour facial shapes etc good conduct bad emotionalism kindness which sets them apart one from the other i can usually trust a berber but not an arab the arab are self absorbed the berber are afraid to do wrong they think and have taqwah.

east africa yes id say the berber clicking language originated from s africa too........ islanders in prox to morocco canaries were using still do a clicking berber language which comes from moroccan berbers who colonised there.Dogs were trained by berber shepherds clicking languages used..........

What are your origins?

I have read that Berbers are Arabs, Europeans, ect, and that they aren’t Black Africans.

How do you as Berbers view yourself, I think it is best if I knew how you see yourself rather than listen to some American or European person categorize you as a whole into a different racial group.

Before asking what origins Berbers '' Imazighen '' Have ,all of us must ask the question '' Where they live? what is their territory called?.

Simply,Imazighen live in the North of Africa since the human appearence as the archologie has proved so,As all of you know that North of Africa is a synonym of TAMAZGHA and the language Berbers speak is Tamazight.

Thus,Imazighen '' Berbers'' are people living in Tamazighen and their language is Tamazight.So we don't need to argue about their origins wheither they are Amrecans or Europians or Arabs.

The "Berber" people are the Imazighen (meaning free people). They the oldest surviving civilazation that are still around today. Their existance in North Africa dates back to the Paleolithic Age which is the stone age ofcourse (Thats 500 000 years ago and ended in 6000 BCE). Unfortunetaly for everyone that are commenting on the origins of the Berbers( amazighe ), you are literally thousands of years out with most of your comments. And please, DO NOT irretate people by speculating what race they are. Berber people origanaly had blond hair, blue eyes and white skins. Someone mentioned that they are Portugues or Indian and all that I can comment on that is PLEASE, MAN WAKE UP ! They are Caucasian (white people for those who didnt know what caucasian is).
Yes, some minoraty have intermarry with the Arabian people. In S.A. you get white people, black people and the coloured people(directely translated form Afrikaans). The coloured people have 95% our culture, language and our religion, but that doesnt make them white and it doesnt make them black either. Guys I've been studying the Imazighen(Berber people) for around 2 years now. You can trust what I wright down because it all comes out of TRUSTED sources e.g. old history books have a lot more info on the Imazighen than the new books I've read through. They original religion was Christian (I'm not certian what it was before christianity). And please, do not take offence when people are discussing races UNLESS they are rude about it. Be sensitive towards others and respect others inorder to be respected. Anybody can retaliate. I dont find it offencive when someone ask a question out of interest, though.
