DNA studies show that we have a standard European mtDNA & 70% of the paternal lineage is East African (similar to Somalians, Lebanese, Greeks & Egyptians)

The original Berbers were Europids, that were replaced by big waves of East African colonists, the Arabid genetic contribution is minor ~10% some of it Phoenician, Hebrew, Yemenite & Bedouin

Our "Arab" compatriots are also closer to us than to Arabid populations although they are Semitic speaking
