No No No we are not Semitic

DNA studies show that we have a standard European mtDNA & 70% of the paternal lineage is East African (similar to Somalians, Lebanese, Greeks & Egyptians)

The original Berbers were Europids, that were replaced by big waves of East African colonists, the Arabid genetic contribution is minor ~10% some of it Phoenician, Hebrew, Yemenite & Bedouin

Our "Arab" compatriots are also closer to us than to Arabid populations although they are Semitic speaking

Talking Berber female names

I too am interested in the Berber. I have reason to believe that Berber came to Eastern North America about 1600 with Spanish or Portuguese ships. I think the first names/given names of the females continues to this day in America.
I need help indentifying the names I have in a list as being of Berber or Moor origin. Maybe they are Spanish or Portuguese names from Moor families. I know many of the Moors were Berber.

Is anyone knowledgeable about this Berber history.

Exclamation berbers

the berbers are or can be anything from white european blonde blue eyes to black african please refrain from categorising people based ona racist european stereotype which says the reason berbers are discriminated against is because theyre black africans in fact your ignorance is apallingly nasty i think the q itself is racist as van sertima says in the history of the moors arabs can be black african and also white so we shall say then both berbers arabs can be any colour at all all are moroccans.

Angry berbers didnt come from the americas theyre numidians

the numidians were born or came from north africa theyre indiginous to the moroccos theyre the original people who own all of the moroccos by law...... its their land however the arabs came when islaam cam e about they stole their land the two peoples became one however the one people seemed to like thinking of themselves as superior luckily we have now a recognisation from gadaafis son saif and others that the berbers rights to self determination should be recognised albeit that many abuses have ocurred defying description as in aures in algeria kenchela and certain places in morocco.
