I know this thread is old but perhaps we can revive it. Interesting that race and slavery enters the conversation. The Berber language is an Afro-asiatic language, as is Arabic, as are many others. This means they all have the same origin, the same parent. This means within the racial politics of the U.S.A, all of you claiming Berber purity or Berber ancestors are BLACK. There is no need for anyone here to look for where we come from now.

Firstly , the term "berber" is wrong .
secondly , The problem of "arabisation" and diference between races in Morocco is created by a minority which aims to make large diverge between the 2 , and to make conflict withen moroccans people.
We have in Morocco what we call "Culture diversity" ; like others countries , which means that our culture is too rich , each regions have a specific custums and traditions. And we must preserve that. and do not reject others by thinking that one culture is better than other. In contrary we must have "Cultural integration" by believing to the difference , following the proverbs that says : "we are all different but equal".

Franckly, I dont mind which colour or language people are. But I do have a HUGE PROBLEM with any body who wants to push their religion, culture, traditions and their belives down my throat or anybody elses for that matter. Just remember where my freedom start is where yours is stopping. If people can just learn to respect others this world would be heaven !!

I think no matter who you are - Berber or arab - we are still Muslims and Moroccans. We have got a wide range of Cultural, Social, customs, traditional, religional and racial Diversities. All these come together to enrich Morocco as an unique country. People come all over the world to discover these natural diversities and i think, we should preseve it safe and clean, and not giving it any distorted image due to some people who have followed something which is not in real, some, something fantasy or due to unreasonable Ideologies.

We are Muslims, We are Moroccans : That's what we should take in consideration first of all. And don't let any Alien takes an advantage of that.
