Narrated Tikhfat al-Ghifari:

Ya'ish ibn Tikhfat al-Ghifari said: My father was one of the people in the Suffah.

The Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Come with us to the house of Aisha. So we went and he said: Give us food, Aisha. She brought hashishah and we ate. He then said: Give us food, Aisha. She then brought haysah as small in quantity as a pigeon and we ate. He then said: Give us something to drink, Aisha. So she brought a bowl of milk, and we drank. Again he said: Give us something to drink, Aisha. She then brought a small cup and we drank. He then said: If you wish, you may spend the night (here), or if you wish, you may go to the mosque.

He said: While I was lying on my stomach because of pain in the lung, a man began to shake me with his foot and then said: This is a method of lying which Allah hates. I looked and saw that he was the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him).

I know this thread is old but perhaps we can revive it. Interesting that race and slavery enters the conversation. The Berber language is an Afro-asiatic language, as is Arabic, as are many others. This means they all have the same origin, the same parent. This means within the racial politics of the U.S.A, all of you claiming Berber purity or Berber ancestors are BLACK. There is no need for anyone here to look for where we come from now.

The Berbers in Algeria are more politically involved and militant for their cause than their counterparts in Morocco. The Berbers in Morocco behave like sheep in comparison.

What I mean is that the situation for Berbers in Libya is atrocious. I have worked with Berbers from Libya and they are treated like filth. I am aware that Berbers travel to Algeria for meetings etc. as the Berbers in Algeria are the most active for their cause as you quite rightly state.

What I am saying that Berbers in Algeria face more OPEN discrimination in their day-to-day lives than those in Morocco. That is simply my opinion. If I am wrong, please post some links & I will happily reconsider my view.

i have G R E A T respect for the North Africans ! ! !
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia etc.

Some of most blessed people come from there.
Father of sociology, Ibn Khaldun is a berber if i am not mistaken.
Ibn Qayyim, whose last work is the No 2 reference work among Muslim scholars if i am not wrong, is from North Africa.

Hey! Zinedine Zidane is from Algeria.
