The Arab and the Palace
The only reason I pretended a Saudi Arab was because they were the ones I saw on the TV at the racetrack show. I am not a gambler but for a few years now I make a small bet on the Kentucky Derby and the other two Triple Crown races. I usually loose but this year the Kentucky Derby was on my birthday, May 2nd and I won an exacta of $312.00 This was a big surprise. I made the bet at the off track betting parlor and was there with my father to make the bet. Then I left and met with Rhonda, Amie and the children and we went to Chinese Buffet for lunch. It was a nice day and I did not know I won the bet until I looked it up on Equibase results on the computer later in the day.
Back to the Arabs, this was the year 2000. I thought they were interesting in America so I started making up a story. I always make a place to live and I called him Mohamed. At that time I knew enough to do that. I study about Islam ever since. Now I think the Arab should be a Moroccan and the Palace should be in Morocco. You can see some of this thinking in the story of Ahmed and Ishtar. I pretend we had some children who did not have parents any more be with us. This story would be six teen boys and four teen girls and two three year old little girls and two three year old little boys. There would be one teen African girl and one little boy African. The teens are close to sixteen or sixteen. About that, Mohamed could decide where they are from and of course at least two teens are Moroccan and one little girl is Moroccan and the other little boy is Moroccan.
The Palace: It has a very large room in the center inspired by a church I use to go to. The ceiling is very high. The area is large and it is very beautiful. It has an alter in the front made of marble tiles. At the back are the inner entrance doors. There are three sets of double glass and brass doors with cinamin brick columns in between. The back area is tiled with flat light grey ceramic tiles with grey grout. Cinamin bricks line around the edge of the floors in the great room and the outer corridors. In further the floors are dark hardwood floors. Since this is a big area, I kept some of the rows of the oak benches you would see in the church. Maybe five or seven rows. On the alter I put a large brick fireplace. There are brick(always cinamin) wall sections and columns in this Mosque Room. That is what I called it.
I kept the pipe organ. (I use to play a little until I became a computer person) There really are pipes on the walls. That is to the left of the alter. There is a piano to the left also against the left wall by the alter. There are a balconey on the second floor on each side of the room. I designed these to be the libraries. The balcony is large and there is a brass rail along the front wall to keep one from falling. The libraries have book shelves around and agaist the back wall there is TV unit. There is a DVD player (which I do not have). One side the boys use and the other side the girls and younger children use.
This was the best story but now so is Ahmed and Ishtar.
More about the Palace next time.
