In an interview with the Moroccan daily Al Bayane, Moussa said that the Sahara conflict is “within the competence of the UN”, expressing his hope that the “excellent relations between the two sister countries” will be restored.
Invoking the declaration concerning the democratisation and modernisation of Arab countries, adopted in the Arab Summit of 2004 in Tunis, Moussa precised that “things have effectively started to develop, as the Arab world is currently witnessing evolution at the levels of democracy, human rights, and education reform.”
He nevertheless voiced hope that reforms would be faster, more global, and profound. Moussa added that Khartoum's Arab summit, due to be held on March 28-29, will call for the acceleration of reforms in the Arab world.
Moussa, 73, is expected to be re-elected at the helm of the Arab League during Khartoum's summit.
