You know, good things to learn are 'swaab' = they are etiquette types of things Moroccans love to use excessively

Like for example:
If someone comes out of the shower - you say "bsaha"
If someone says it to you = you said "Allah e ateek saha"
It can also be said if someone is dressed up or has something new. No doubt Pharess can fill you in with the other uses

If you are stuffed & they are still saying 'koul' (eat ) say "Allah e khlef". You can also say 'schbaat'

When you visit Maroc, people will come to say hi etc & will often say 'ala salama'. So you say 'Allah e salmek'.

There are dozens of these kinds of things but they are useful to know.

Thanks Ghazala. I noted this in my file (have a seperate Word file where I am pasting these lessons). So please keep 'em coming!

Normally when I am full I say "Safi" . Sometimes "safi, barfeek" is that right or does no-one want to correct me?

lol..I think they're becoming wary cos they realise I'm starting to "fehemt" (understand, is that right?!). Anyway, the first time I visited Maroc I was blonde and we went to visit the neighbours. When my hubby told the old lady my name (Muslim ofcourse) she was really surprised and said Islamiyyah? Islamiyyah? (I never used to wear hijab back then). Anyway she proceeded to say that she thought I was "gowriyyah" like her daughter in law(straight to my hubby's face)) After that, nobody has called me that.

My mum in law is sweet, calls me habiba (but maybe there's a bad word for me behind me back)
