don't believe the hype
I don't agree with "all Moroccans are Berbers", but i agree with "berbers are not Arabs".
I am a 100% berber and i do not do not do not regard myself as an arab, never, i am a muslim first of all, of a moroccan berber origin.
They better recognise Tamazight as an official language, they did in Algeria, why not in Rocco??!
In terms of race, I think berbers represent 80% of the population in Morocco and Algeria.
There are about 4 million Berbers living in Europe, primarily in France.
The problem of "arabisation" has swept away Tamazight from many regions, as well as the Berber identity, many people with Berber forefathers, are now claiming to be Arabs.
So it's about time we make some noise against the undervaluation of our culture and identity, the absence of a written language is very important and about having little political influence as well.
But let's just hope that the situation doesn't become tense, like in Algeria, civil war... we don't want that!
Peace
RB
