The little town of Moulay Idriss, situated near Fes, is considered an extremely holy destination, and the site of the Moulay Idriss Moussem celebrations.

In the beautiful country of Morocco you will find the historical and religious festival of ‘Moulay Idriss Moussem’ during the month of September.

It’s during this time that the Patron Saint ‘Moulay Idriss’ is honoured. It has to be noted that the seriousness and importance of this religious festival is unlike any other, being considered as an equivalent to that of the Muslim Pilgrimage to Mecca.

An interesting historical note must be mentioned: Prior to the early part of the 20th Century non-Muslims were forbidden from entering the town of Moulay Idriss. Thus visitors to the town should always show the deepest respect.
