The Tan Tan Moussem will take place outside the village of Tan Tan from 27 to 29 November 2009. As the largest gathering of its kind in Morocco, the Tan Tan Moussem is a celebration of tradition and culture where tribes socialize, enjoy song and dance, share their knowledge of herbal medicines, compete in horse races and conduct some camel trading.
Started in 1963 as a religious festival and to honor the legendary Saharan leader Cheik Mohamed Laghdaf, the Tan Tan Moussem has grown and developed into a gathering of tribes enjoyed by all who attend and looked forward to with keen anticipation each year.
