Mawared Receives Best Future Residential Project Award

Mawared, a National Resources Investment and Development Corporation, is no stranger to receiving awards for their visionary projects and the incorporation of environmental awareness with every venture they take on. Awards such as the Cityscape Dubai in 2006 - the Best Design & Architecture Award at Cityscape 2006 for the Queen Alia International Airport Renovation Project, as well as the Best Design & Architecture Award for the Princess Salma Housing Estate Project. So it really came as no surprise when Mawared walked away with the Best Future Residential Project Award.

The Cityscape 2008, which was held in Abu Dhabi from the 13th to the 16th of May, awarded Mawared with the Best Future Residential Project Award at a gala event that was hosted by the Emirates Palace Hotel. An international panel of judges is assigned to vote on the entrants for the awards, each judge being a professional within the industry. And it was the Cap Juby project, designed by Mawared, for Targaya in Morocco that caught the panels’ eye.

Targaya is located on in the southern region of Morocco, along the Atlantic coast. Here, Mawared envisioned an ambitious project than spans across approximately 2.5 million square meters of land and will be solely focused on the tourism industry of Morocco. Cap Juby will be regrouping facilities with the tourist in mind. Entertainment facilities, museums, casinos, restaurants, hotels, residential units, pubs and commercial amenities will all be conveniently located within the project boundaries.

Mawared was honored for the contribution that it makes to the architectural industry through its inventions and unique imaginative creations. These qualities were noticed in the Targaya project, which earned them nominations in the Best Retail Project Award, the Best Waterfront Development and the last category, Best Future Residential Project Award, which they won.

At the ceremony, Akran Adu Hamdan, who is the General Director of Mawared, expressed his gratitude at receiving the award, saying: “Mawared has always been at the forefront of real estate development in Jordan and today we started imprinting the region with award winning projects, exporting with that the knowhow and vision that Jordan has to offer to the region. Cap Juby is our first project outside the scope of Jordan and we are extremely proud to receive this encouragement in the form of a prestigious award”.
